About the Consultancy / Project – Forests, sustainable land use, and a just food system are an essential part of the global response to climate change.
To advance these solutions, working with influencers, content producers and key voices can play an active role in helping foster public engagement for climate change action and environmental protection at every level.
The influencers consultant will be responsible for engaging from well-known celebrities to social media micro-influencers and other key voices speaking to the importance of protecting tropical forests, the climate, and Indigenous Peoples’ rights.
You will work with not-for-profit partner organizations to help develop and deploy creative communication strategies combined with influencers strategies to realize the potential of forests, land-use and a just food system to address climate change, benefit people and protect the environment.
We are looking for a combination of creative strategic communication, culture production and community building skills. A successful candidate will ‘roll up her/his sleeves’ to help organize and build an influencer communication network to empower transformation on climate.
In a typical week, under guidance of a senior manager, you will engage directly with NGOs, communication agencies and, of course: influencers.
Key responsibilities: build relationships with talent agencies, networks, and influencer platforms; create and conduct capacity building trainings for CSO’s on how to work with influencers; create and conduct training for influencers on how to approach environment issues and how to deliver effective narratives; help our network of allies to implement influencer strategies in their organizations; engage influencers in different CSO’s communication campaigns; organize lives, digital art festivals and creative projects to connect influencers and CSO’s in promoting the importance of protecting tropical forests, the climate, and Indigenous Peoples’ rights; help to find and systematize ambassadors for long-term partnerships with social environmental organizations; develop creative projects with micro, small and medium influencers; help bridging connection between socio environmental CSO’s and influencers from different/”out of the bubble” fields (games, education, life style, agro, etc); establish and coordinate with a network of allies to connect influencers with story-worthy experiences, interesting guests, and high-quality information
Work alongside the Senior Communication Manager in influencer strategy development, creative communication and implementation planning; contribute to project planning, timelines, deadlines; diligent reporting management and tracking.
The consultant will ideally bring a combination of: experience with influencers and creative strategic communications, fluency in Portuguese and English, positive attitude and collaborative approach to teamwork and problem solving, roll-up-your-sleeves ego-free approach to the work of the organization is a must.
Creativity: offers new and different options to solve problems or meet CSO’s needs; the versatile and adaptable skills necessary to flourish in a fast-paced and wide-ranging environment and work across phone/video, time zones, slack, email, etc.
Desirable – Work experience in CSO, human rights or socio environment working or related institutional communications.
Work experience in a client service strategy consultancy, PR or digital agency.
